Floral Portraits

Preserve your bouquet with

Gallery Worthy     Hand-painted      Original Art

It’s the most gorgeous, meaningful and, let’s face it, expensive bouquet of your life.
Immortalize it in a way worthy of the day and the bouquet with a Floral Portrait.

The original flowers may wilt and fade, but a floral portrait captures their original beauty and significance. On display, your floral portrait will grace your living space just as the flowers enhanced your big day.

Every time you look at it, you’ll remember the beauty and joy while your friends will just think you have great taste in art!

Every aspect of your floral portrait is customizable, from the medium and style to the background colors, so that it perfectly reflects your taste and interior design.

Some styles can even incorporate words, such as names, dates, or snippets of vows, and sheet music like your processional or “your song.”

A floral portrait is the ultimate personalized, truly romantic and elegant keepsake.

Floral Portraits are the best way to preserve your bouquet.

  • Dried flowers turn brown and fall apart after awhile
  • Glass pressed flowers retain their color, but only save select blooms, losing the overall design
  • Resin blocking can preserve the whole bouquet, but can be awkward to display.
  • Both pressing and blocking have to be done right away before the flowers fade. Stopping at Fedex on the way to the honeymoon? No thank you.
  • Those gorgeous photos that the photographer took end up just another pic in the album.

Floral Portraits are convenient, sophisticated, and can fit any budget.

  • I use photos of the flowers to create your portrait, so it can be commissioned any time- including for anniversaries.
  • I eliminate the awkward arms, hotel room background, and the obvious wedding details from photos while adding the finesse of an artist’s touch so you can display your portrait without decorating in “early newlywed.”
  • Pricing is determined by size. You choose the size that fits your space and budget.

Style options for every aesthetic

Soft Pastel

Airy and romantic, soft pastels are done on top quality archival paper in a color to suit your flowers and your taste.  Because pastels smudge easily and fixatives can yellow and dull over time, pastel drawings are delivered in a simple black, white, or silver frame under acrylic.  They can be displayed as is or you can reframe to suit your tastes.

Oil, Smooth

A timeless and rich classic, a traditional oil painting is the most true to life while still offering expressive choices in composition, color, and background that a photograph can’t quite match.  Paintings are done on 1.5″ deep gallery wrap canvas with the painted image extending onto the sides.  No frame is necessary for a museum worthy display.

Oil, Textured

A dramatic and slightly abstract take on the classic oil painting, this style is executed entirely with a palette knife (no brushes!). It has a fabulously rough texture and gorgeous sheen.  Words can be incised directly into the thick paint, adding a special, romantic touch. (Look closely and you can see “Love Always” cut into the bottom left corner). These paintings are done on 1.5″ gallery wrap canvas with the sides brush painted to match the background.  No frame necessary for an amazing display.

Acrylic

Acrylic paintings offer a modern level of abstraction somewhere between smooth and textured oil paintings.  These paintings are done on 1.5″ deep gallery wrap canvas and have the greatest flexibility for custom additions.  They can either be painted on a smoothly prepared canvas for a sleeker look, or as pictured, on a textured canvas with words incised. Music can also be added (pieces of Pachelbel’s Canon in D shown here).

Watercolor and Colored Pencil

For a lighter feel or for flexibility in framing, watercolor and colored pencil portraits are also available as individual mediums or combined mixed media. These are done on top quality archival paper with premium pigments to last a lifetime.  Because they are done on paper, they offer the greatest flexibility for matting and framing to match your personal style.

Special Touches

Words

Add meaningful words to your portrait: maybe a line from your vows, or words to a favorite song, whatever speaks to you.  Words can be incised into rough textured paintins or hand written on smooth or paper based portraits.

Music

Incorporate the music that moves you right into your portrait through a special transfer process.
